At NoteRich, privacy isn't just a feature; it's our foundational architecture. We built NoteRich on a "Local-First" philosophy, meaning we physically cannot access the core of what makes our app valuable to you: your thoughts, notes, and files.

1. What We DO NOT Collect

Because NoteRich operates locally on your machine, we do not collect or store:

• The contents of your notes, markdown files, or attachments.
• Your local knowledge base, tags, or workspace structures.
• Your search queries made within the local application.

2. What We DO Collect (and Why)

We only collect the absolute minimum data required to operate the service and process transactions:

• Account & Licensing Data: When you purchase NoteRich Pro, our third-party payment processor (PayProGlobal) collects your email address and payment information. We only store your email and a hashed license key to validate your Pro status and send you critical product updates.
• Anonymous Telemetry (Optional): We may collect anonymous, non-identifiable crash reports or performance metrics to fix bugs. This data never includes your note content.

3. Ephemeral AI Processing

When you use AI features (like "Ask AI" or "Summarize"), a minimal context window of your text must be sent to our secure API endpoints to generate a response. We enforce strict privacy guarantees on this process:

• Zero Data Retention: Context is held in volatile memory (RAM) only for the milliseconds required to generate the AI response. It is never written to a database or disk.
• No Model Training: We explicitly opt-out of any data sharing agreements with our underlying LLM providers. Your prompts are never used to train foundational models.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. We use your browser's Local Storage and Session Storage strictly for application functionality, such as:

• Remembering your UI preferences (e.g., dark mode, sidebar width).
• Storing your language preference.
• Caching your local Pro license verification token.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on a minimal stack of trusted third-party services:

• PayProGlobal: For secure checkout and license key generation.
• AI Infrastructure Providers: For ephemeral LLM processing (bound by strict enterprise data privacy agreements).

6. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Because your data is local, you are the sole custodian of your data. If you wish to "delete your account" or wipe your data, you simply need to uninstall the NoteRich application and delete your local workspace folders.

If you wish to be removed from our mailing list or licensing database, please email support@noterich.com, and we will purge your email and license records within 7 days.

7. Children's Privacy

NoteRich is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our architecture or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes via an in-app notification or an email to the address associated with your Pro license.
